On the 4th January 2013, open day ceremony for ABE
qualification was held at Horn of Africa University campus hall.
Several International professors, officers from local and International NGOs, HAU Administrator and founders, parents, journalists, students and other guests participated the ceremony.

The vice chancellor Mohamed O. Abbasheikh opened the
ceremony, briefly discussed the background of Horn of Africa University and
welcomed the different guests; by explaining the importance of the gathering.
He stressed that it’s great honour for Horn of Africa
University to become the first University implementing European qualification
(ABE) in Somalia. Dr. Abdulkadir Mohamed Diesow explained widely ABE, why we
choose, and opportunities after gaining ABE qualification.
He told that ABE qualifications are taught to 50,000
students by 500 colleges in more than 80 counties world wide.
As being ABE first European qualification in Somalia,
it’s great opportunity for all Somalis to start, learn and gain European
qualification, which they are in their homeland.
